Recently I went with a group of girls to the restaurant 1789 for dinner. We had a really nice and enjoyed top notch food.  The chef came out before we left and joked with us that we bring the average age of the place down.   It seems that most of the patrons are older, more sophisticated DCites.  He was a young guy and really friendly.  We told him how great the food was and he told us how he made some of the dishes

Peaches and Burrata thinly cut peaches, vin cotto, grilled bread and imported burrata

Tagliatelle black and white pasta, Maryland crab fritters, house smoked bacon, Florida white shrimp and English peas

Duck Confit Strudel mascarpone cheese, cherry compote and foie gras cream
Mushroom Crêpes goat cheese and Diver Scallops (Point Pleasant, NJ) sweet corn velouté, cherry tomatoes, curly scallions and house smoked bacon

Raspberry Pistachio Pavlova crisp meringue, fresh Virginia raspberries, raspberry rose reduction and pistachio ice cream. And then Ice Cream Profiterolescream puff pastry filled with hazelnut, brown sugarand espresso ice creams; candied hazelnutand warm bittersweet ganache

Fireside S’mores bittersweet chocolate cake, graham cracker crème anglaise, “hot” chocolate sauce and roasted marshmallow ice cream

Summer Peach Crème BrûléeSt-Germain macerated peaches, almond butter cake and peach Prosecco sorbet

I can't believe you remember all of the names of the food we ordered. I do love 1789!! Amazing food. I want to go there again! Let's go for restaurant week!!! xo
