The US Supreme Court

I recently visited the US Supreme Court where I learned a lot of interesting facts about both the building and they way that the court is run. Lectures are given frequently throughout the day and are only half an hour long, making it brief, yet informative.
Did you know that the court wasn't provided with its own building until 1935? Until then the court had been held in various locations, including the US Capitol. Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes said that The Supreme Court is "distinctly American in concept and function." Few other courts in the world have the same authority of constitutional interpretation and none have exercised it for as long or with as much influence (taken from the brochure I picked up while visiting).
Definitely worth a visit if you're in DC.
